Who knew large format carrara marble tile was so hard to find! This week, our major accomplishment was sourcing and buying our tile! And we also finished all of the rough in electrical.

Welcome to week five of our One Room Challenge project!
Keep Up With All of the Updates for This Project
I've been searching for the specific marble tile I wanted for our log home master bathroom for a months now. I wanted a mostly light colored marble, something that looked like it could have been around for a while. Mike wanted large format tile, not subway size, because he just likes it.
So the search was on for 12x24 light colored marble.
I had no idea how difficult it would be to find it locally. I went to every tile shop in town. When I found a color I liked, it wasn't available in the size I needed. When I finally found what I was looking for, it was way over budget and would take three to six weeks to be delivered.
I made two trips to other towns and found marble tile that would work, but again it was over budget and wouldn't arrive for weeks.
Searching and buying tile online was a little scary for me, and since this project is on a deadline there was no time to order samples and wait for tile to be shipped.
I was beginning to run out of options. Then I was searching online and found a store that had unbelievable prices on marble tile and had it in stock!
So we made the three hour drive to the closest Floor and Decor to us. This is not a sponsored post. I bought all of this tile with my own money. But I have been so excited about this store and their tile, I have been telling everyone I talk to about it!
And then I drove very carefully for three hours to get a van load of marble home!
Here are our plans for the tile layout in the shower, with 8x12 carrara marble tile and a picket mosaic as the accent:
Also this week, Mike rewired all of the bathroom lighting and outlets. That one little sentence equals so many hours of work!
This project only has three weeks left to our finish deadline!
As always, thanks so much for stopping by and checking out our latest project!
